Thorough cleaning after winter

Start with a complete cleaning. During the winter, your cargo bike has had to deal with road salt, mud and moisture. These substances can cause rust and wear if you don't remove them. Use lukewarm water with a mild detergent and a soft brush. Avoid pressure washers, as they can push water into electrical components.

Dry your cargo bike well with a clean cloth after washing. Pay extra attention to the places where water can remain, such as near the bearings and in the cargo box. A dry cargo bike is a happy cargo bike.

Check the drive

For cargo bikes with a chain drive, spring is the time to thoroughly clean and lubricate the chain. Also check that the chain is not overly stretched. A worn out chain will wear out your sprockets faster.
