City, cobblestones and wet pavement: here's how to translate your route to profile
The right choice depends less on “what's possible” and more on “what you really drive.” Use these three scenarios as a quick translation of your daily route.
Scenario A: mostly urban (asphalt, bike lane, lots of traffic lights)
If you ride 80-90% on asphalt and neat bike paths, a slick or all-around city profile is usually best. You gain efficiency and the cargo bike feels lighter when accelerating.
- Select slick If you ride mostly dry and take your turns gently.
- Select all-round city profile If you often drive in rain, or take a lot of sharp turns and traffic circles.
